"Passion and Balance" Oh, and Pixi-Perfect. ;)

There is, in life, a natural balance.   A cycle of the elements.    The balance of "good and evil" as so often it’s referred too…the balance of "yin and yang", fire and water…soft hard etc.   And of course, the cycle of life and death.   Perhaps this is something that is balanced not only in life and the world, even the universe around us, but inside of our individual selves.
Have you noticed the very same mom, whose excitement reaches (loudly) the moon, when her child makes the “finals” is the mother that will easily knock somebodies front bumper to bits with a baseball bat?   It’s the passion, the fire that she holds inside.   It’s capable of being the fire and the ice.  Much like your co-worker whose personality is much like that of a toothbrush…not an electric one.    “Ok, that’s fine, it’s ok, the world is falling to ashes around me, but oh well.”   The person  you find yourself trying to PUSH to be happy when they’ve been promoted at work, or asked out by the girl of their dreams etc.    Their balance carries much less strength...unless of course they are secretly a sociopath in which case...well...stay far far away.  :)
In trying to understand life as a whole, I’ve been forced into researching who Melli is as a whole.   That does require the untangling of each strand there is to the number of threads that make up me.   I’m a passionate person.   I have the ability to do anything…I don’t see any reason to not do something, or try something, or go for the world, because for me, the possible consequence is nothing compared to the more likely triumphs.   I see my own balance as a force.   When ignited, it’s a vicious Fire burning all obstacles.   This can be both good or bad.   When elated, it’s  rushing Water, movement that I cannot get to the world, or my loved ones fast enough to hug them.   When the days are long and dark, and I’m wrapped in a blanket reading a book, it’s Earth…a melancholy comfortable place of contentment.   And when I’m excited, or anxious even, it’s Wind…it can be softly brushing my cheek with it’s calming touch, or it can be howling so loud and hard that the doors and windows begin to knock in and out…AND once in a good while, when each of these elements is called to action simultaneously…well, then that becomes Storm.  Simple, graceful, powerful, strong, and showing no mercy .
Each of us carries our own levels of balance from within.  This has helped me personally, in not being afraid of challenge tossed my way.   It helps me keep my cool…even when on the inside I’m burning with fury.   It’s only human.   "The level of ones passion, is the truest level of ones balance."
Having faith in yourself, and sometimes in faith itself, is always helpful.   Understanding the balance, and the passion that YOU hold inside, is something that will more than astonish you...it's something that quite honestly, can change your entire life.
         PS...I chopped off my hair...I am now (again) officially, a Pixi-Princess.  ;)

Rock~o...and a rose.

In reference to one that brings comfort, it's not uncommon we'll hear (or even say) "X is my rock".  By the grace of some higher power, I'm lucky to have several "rocks"in life.   There's one in particular whose ability is far beyond words...even for me.  ;)  Most of the time she silently swoops in, and takes over the job of my spinal column.    My "Rock-o" helps open my mind up, so that a bigger picture is clear...rather than just helping me get through the day.   She walks through the world with brilliant confidence, grace, gentle force, remarkable beauty (illuminated from the inside out) and in her wake leaves trails of smiles, relief, feelings of love and healing.   If ever there was a "Goddess" it would be her.   The fact that she teaches others how to utilize these traits in themselves, is amazing.   Likely she'll admit, just as I will, that yes, we do drive each other batty.  However, bottom line?    Well, hey, she's my rock...she rocks the modern world.   And I'm grateful every day of my life that she's willing to be apart of it.
She happens also, to be my sister.

Words of ...wisdom...and heart...

Shocking as it is...I'm not actually out of words...nor do I have writers block...but my everything is tired...  :)   So, rather than write, I'm going to simply attach some things I've already written, along with a poem I've found hidden in a secret place, from a secret time, written centuries ago.  Angels~Angels, and as always, quite kindly, Mell

"In times like this~when hope is torn
Skies turn dark~mind grows worn
Do please know~I care for you
Always,forever~our love is true
At some point~a choice was clear
That one day soon~each other we'd near
With sparkling magic~sun rays & moon beams
I came to you~ you came to me
The rains have shown~storms to follow
It's been hard~difficult to swallow
At times it's sad~ being so alone
Where one's heart is~the other calls home
You have my soul~your smile is heaven
Again we'll be happy~ I love you Kevin"

Friends and Cave Drawings.

Friends are good.   Hugs, smiles, laughter, support, loyalty, strength, rolling with you and your punches, being there to catch you when you fall, never being the one that pushes, and looking out for your best, most healthy, and happy interests are a handful of qualities a true friend has.   AND the qualities that their true friends have and give back to them.   Friends are good.   I love mine, and I appreciate them.   And I miss a lot of them that don't live nearby.   So to all of you that have been, or will be, my forever friends, I thank you quite kindly, for allowing me the honor, of having you in my life, and I pray I am able to do for you, all that you do for me.   This includes siblings as I happen to have the very best ever.
In crisis, I turn to my friends...as a child though, sometimes it's hard to do even that.   When my family was falling apart, I did all I could to "make it better" ...to "fix" everything.   But I didn't have the strength to talk.   So I went into my hibernation mode.   I've been there before.   As an adult, I go into my Melli cave and...well, what else?   Draw.   Cave Drawings.   :)  It's how I maintain beauty and calm, when the world starts spinning too quickly for me.
So,  here are some of my Melli-Neanderthawl-Cave sketches.

Cookie Dough, Naked Women, and the Intrigue of Being Clothed.

"Dress sharply and they`ll remember the outfit; dress impeccably and they`ll remember the woman."
"A woman is closest to being naked when she is well dressed."
"To achieve great things, we must first dream"
Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel (19 August 1883 – 10 January 1971)

"A white tee shirt and blue jeans, on a confident woman is intriguing, subtle, and down right sexy...  If you just want to see a naked woman, get a Playboy."

There are little girls that grow up and want so badly to become Marilyn Monroe.   She was gorgeous...a blond bombshell.   Though I don't believe she set out to become a sex goddess per say, she was instructed to be provocative...her job was to make men want her...right at that moment.   She was set-up, as an "impulse buy".   Had she ever gone to the CEO of a giant corporation, (certainly a man at that time) he would've loved having her there...as eye candy.   I believe she did what she thought she was supposed to do...really what she was told, to make things work.   She knew what she needed, what she had and how to control it.   And she was very , very good at it.
Gabrielle (Coco) Chanel was among the first women on my list of "icons".  Chanel was photographed ( in Pearls thank you very much) as often as any celebrity.  Her posture was spot on and she was ALWAYS put together well...no matter if in a second hand mens coat, or a couture suit tailored by her own hands.   She lived her life with great confidence in, and respect for, herself.   It's because of the strength of character, that had she walked into that same office...she would have been taken seriously.   She meant business.  And she built an empire.  Today, over 100 years after her first collection premiered, she is seen as a legend for her business sense, her ability to design women's attire (that did not require a bustier), and she is credited with bringing "fashion" to an entirely new level.   Beyond ALL, she worked her tail off to get where she did...and Chanel remains one of the most highly respected collections, and is ( of course)  always in fashion.
Emily Frankel, is royalty.   As a professional dancer, she has natural poise.  Her silhouehette is a whisper in her dainty, yet bold frame.   Upon entering a black tie event, or running to the grocery store, she silently commands respect.  It's true that striking beauty will always render an audience speechless... She though, has come through trauma.   Saying she's "strong" is like saying a shark has sharp teeth.   Have you ever seen the skeletal structure of a Great White's mouth?   My heavens!!!    She wears clothing that is classic in it's construction, as gaudy is not her style.   And on her, it isn't required.   She's credited by the world as a dancer, a performer, and a choreographer.  She also ran her own company and she began with a dream as a child.   She followed it despite the obstacles she came head to head with.   Her faith and her will have kept life moving forward.   I admire her and respect her for soaring through, up, over and out of emotional difficulties, and for her determination  with regard to the physical curve balls she's been thrown.
The women I've wanted to resemble are not simply "impulse buys".   They don't give up easily when somebody tells them no.   It's never a done deal...unless they themselves say so.  They are women that walk into the CEO's office, and hold his attention...perhaps at first because of their beauty...or simply because men are curious when they see  tenacity in a women's eyes.   When the initial shock of         "whoa she's a knock-out" wears off...the cloth does not.   The man's brain will return to it's proper spot in between his ears...rather than his legs...and the graceful, sweet, gentle woman in front of him will have (in his eyes) transformed...into a force ~ that likely he'd rather not mess with.
My high school English teacher asked us one day, "what do you suppose is more of a turn on, a naked women, or a partially naked woman?"   At first, most people said "naked!"...   Triumph...those dim-wits.   After a moment, a raised eye-brow from the teacher, and a nod in my direction...I said this:
" The fun in baking cookies, is getting to lick the bowl.  A sneak taste.  If you eat all the dough, there's nothing to bake...and then you'll likely puke."

Magic...Really.

Whomever says "there's no such thing as magic"... I beg to differ.       Vehemently.

Dream sweet...angels-angels...
